We are partnering with Pilgrimage Educational Resources to be able to offer two experience-based courses built for summer camp staff.  The majority of the coursework will be completed just by going through staff training and fulfilling your specific job responsibilities throughout the summer.  Camp is the classroom!

The only outside requirement will be a couple of online assignments and submitting a journal entry online each week.

The Courses

Introduction to Accelerated Learning (3 Credits)
This course is an introduction to active learning environments (like camp!) as a medium for “in-process learning”.  Emphasis will be placed on the development of skills for experiential learning, problem solving, communication and team building.  This course has been developed to train individuals in the effective use of active learning environments as a tool for personal growth and as a tool for leading others in their environment to personal growth.

Management of Support Services (3 Credits)
This course will introduce people to competencies necessary for effectively managing the support services that surround organizations including food service, facilities service, housekeeping, and site maintenance.  Key topics will include record-keeping, planning, equipment procurement, outsourcing, budgeting, evaluation, standards and inspections.

The Credit      

The program and classes are provided through Baptist Bible College.  Baptist Bible College is fully accredited by the Middlestates Association of Colleges and Schools.  This means, these courses WILL TRANSFER TO ANY COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY in the U.S.  It will be up to you to determine, along with your school and advisor, whether the credits will transfer into your degree program or as a general elective.  In many cases, these credits meet internship requirements that are necessary in your degree program.

The Cost

Tuition is $275 per credit hour, plus a $10 application fee.  There are no books to buy.

How Do I Enroll?

Contact either Steve or Jill in the Personnel Office and they can send you the Baptist Bible application packet along with the Pilgrimage Educational Resources application form.  Along with those applications, you will need to type up your personal testimony and get a pastor’s reference.

Once you get all of that information pulled together, send it into Pilgrimage with the $10 application fee:

Once your official enrollment is complete, Baptist Bible College will mail you an acceptance letter and, separately, a bill for the tuition.

Pilgrimage will create a user account for you in the online classroom and email instructions for beginning your course.
