Serving with Barnabas and Partners

Barnabas & Partners

Barnabas leads many ministry outreaches in East Asia, including overseeing the Chiang Rai Ministry Center in Thailand and Hani Centre (see story below). Barnabas has been associated with CAMP-of-the-WOODS since he was 16 years old, coming to faith through the ministry of Suen Douh Camp in Hong Kong.

China, Hani Centre

Selling of tea to businessmen and businesswomen from big cities in China helps contribute to part of the operating cost of our Centre. We provide nice guest rooms and meals for them to enjoy during their stay.

Ministry
Under Barnabas’ leadership, Stephen and his small team have reached out to over 330 people in many small villages last year. They are able to share the gospel with these people, as they are just visiting. Some visit a few times, some just one time, however, the seed of the gospel is planted, and Stephen will go back each year to follow up as he is buying tea from these tea farmers throughout the province. Of these 330 people, 58 became Christians.  A few small house churches are now planted. Praise the Lord!

Below are some of the stories of these new believers.

Both Leah and Simon are 28 years old, and recently got married.  Both are Hani workers in a small town. This June, when Stephen shared the gospel with them, they both become Christians.

When Stephen was visiting in their home village to buy tea, he stopped to visit with them. They both found that Stephen was more than just a tea businessman.  He likes to talk about life and creation and is very friendly and offers a good price to buy tea from these villages.  The good testimony of Stephen for many years in these villages has attracted people. Leah and Simon were very interested to know what Stephen meant by creation and Jesus and God.  Stephen shared the gospel with them and they open their hearts for Jesus.

Noah and his wife Mariam are both Hani. They live in a very remote village, they and are tea planters.  They got to know Stephen over several years as he visited them every year to buy tea. They have been to our Centre to learn from Stephen how to grow better tea so they can sell it for a better price.  At our centre last year, after 3 days of training, Stephen shared the gospel with them. After another day of digesting what Stephen told them, they accepted Jesus as Saviour.
