Serving with Africa Inland Mission

Gregg and Karen Lewis

AIM is an organization of people from around the world making disciples among the unreached people of Africa and supporting the African church to do the same. Karen and Gregg fit into the process by providing guidance and administrative support for AIM’s worldwide leadership and personnel. Karen is Director of Personnel, ensuring that AIM is attracting and placing the right people in strategic ministries, and providing for their care and development. Gregg is responsible for the administration of the International Office in Bristol, UK; he oversees the organization/distribution of information throughout the organization and provides IT help and support to leadership and the wider organization.

After their marriage in 1977, they worked with High School Evangelism Fellowship in the NYC area in preparation for working with youth in Africa. They went to a French language school in Quebec in August 1981 and then to the DR Congo (Zaire at the time) in August 1982.

They have been COTW missionaries since 1982.

AIM’s motto is, “Christ-centered churches among all African people.” Since its founding in 1895, its focus has been on bringing the gospel to the unreached of Africa and building up churches that are planted. Through AIM and other organizations, 70% of Africa’s people groups have been reached with the gospel, and AIM’s focus is now on the remaining 30%. They are either in very remote and difficult locations or are in the predominately Muslim parts of the continent where traditional missionary work is not possible. However, teachers, medical workers, and businessmen are establishing relationships and sharing the gospel one-on-one and in small groups.
