Conduct Policy for Members

In the effort to maintain Christian standards of operation and to bring glory and honor to God, Gospel Volunteers, Inc., parent organization of CAMP-of-the-WOODS, has set the following general Conduct Policy for all Associate Members and Resident Members, hereinafter referred to as Members.

Definition of Memberships in Gospel Volunteers, Inc.:

Resident (Guest) Memberships: Purchased by all guests staying on the grounds at CAMP-of-the-WOODS.

Associate Memberships: Purchased (once per calendar year) by all guests not staying on the CAMP-of-the-WOODS grounds but wish to participate in the summer ministry of CAMP-of-the-WOODS.

All members of CAMP-of-the-WOODS are expected to adhere to the following rules of behavior, which serve both the long-range interests of the ministry and the immediate good of its individual Members. While we do not view these expectations as an index of maturity in Christ, we do regard violations as a breach of integrity, because each Member has voluntarily chosen to associate with and accept these standards.

CAMP-of-the-WOODS:

  • Expects its members to abstain from practices which Scripture forbids. Such activities include but are not limited to: occult practices, sexual relations outside of marriage (marriage is defined biblically as a publicly recognized, committed, and exclusive relationship between a man and a woman), homosexual practice, drunkenness, theft, profanity, and dishonesty.

  • Prohibits the use and/or possession of illicit drugs and/or alcoholic beverages on the premises of CAMP-of-the-WOODS, including all Camp-owned facilities and accommodations.

  • Expects its Members to dress modestly and appropriately while on the CAMP-of-the-WOODS grounds. Conservative, non-revealing clothing and swimwear is required at all times. One-piece bathing suits are required for girls and women at the beach.

  • Prohibits the use and/or possession of firearms, fireworks and/or other devices such as floating lanterns (etc.) that may create a fire and/or explosive danger to Camp and/or surrounding areas.

  • Expects that this Conduct Policy is followed. Not adhering to this Conduct Policy may result in the revocation of Membership and/or termination of reservation(s).
