Brazil Mission Trip

March 11 - 22, 2027

Application Deadline: October 31, 2026

In Brazil, we partner with Missionary Athletes International and local ministries to serve children and youth through sports and ministry activities. Through soccer, games, and hands-on programs, we build trust, confidence, and lasting relationships while learning from local missionaries how they use sports and children’s ministry to share Christ.

By observing and participating in their approach, we gain insight into effective ministry and mentorship. We also gain a deeper appreciation for the global church and the priority many ministries place on reaching children with the Gospel, recognizing that faith formed early can shape a lifetime. These experiences help kids grow physically, socially, and spiritually—planting seeds of faith that can impact their families, schools, and communities for years to come.

  • Participants must be at least 13 years old and able to hike short distances, navigate uneven terrain, and perform basic manual labor.

  • No, you don’t need to know Portuguese. If you speak Spanish, that can be helpful since the languages are somewhat similar, but it’s not required. We will have translators with the group at all times to help with communication.

  • We partner with Missionary Athletes International (MAI), a gospel-centered ministry that uses the global platform of soccer to introduce people to Jesus Christ, disciple them to follow Him, and equip them to lead others.

MAI organizes cross-cultural mission trips and works closely with local ministries in each location. During the trip, we will serve alongside a variety of partners—such as churches, sports ministries, camps, and schools.

Dave and Carolyn Urban, serve with MAI, and are missionaries supported by CAMP-of-the-WOODS.

  • Before the trip, the team is expected to participate in 4 to 6 Zoom meetings dedicated to team building and spiritual preparation. These sessions will also address necessary documentation, visa requirements, and recommended medical preparations.

  • We will stay at Vinde Meninos, a ministry center that provides a unique opportunity to experience the ministry firsthand—living, sleeping, and eating in the same place where the ministry happens. The location is in Atibaia, a small and safe town just outside of São Paulo. The environment is very welcoming and comfortable, creating a great setting for both community and ministry engagement. Many of the activities will take place on-site, allowing our team to be fully immersed in the daily life and impact of the ministry.

  • Most meals will be provided at Vinde Meninos, where we will eat together in the same environment where the ministry takes place. Some meals will also be at local restaurants near the areas we’ll be visiting, giving our team a chance to experience the local culture and community. Safe drinking water will also be available throughout the trip.
