About Pioneers

Pioneers mobilizes teams who live among unreached people groups, partnering with local churches to ignite disciple-making movements (pioneers.org). For the Scott family, this means embedding into the culture, learning the language, engaging in daily life with locals, and helping the church-planting process from the inside out.

Ministry Goals

The Scotts’ vision is to see thriving, self-sustaining churches among people in Central Asia. They aim to engage in intentional language learning, relational evangelism, and discipleship—sharing Christ both within their local community and through other opportunities. Their prayer is to see the Kingdom of God grow in a place where few have heard His name.

Mike’s Responsibilities:

  • Serve with a Kingdom business to develop sustainable agricultural technology among rural farmers.

  • Apply his agricultural engineering and leadership background to design and implement community projects that open doors for the Gospel.

  • Use workplace discipleship and business relationships as ministry opportunities.

Rachelle’s Responsibilities:

  • Build relationships with local women and families.

  • Support language acquisition and cultural adaptation for the family during transition.

  • Serve in hospitality, discipleship, and community-outreach roles alongside the team.

  • Join Mike in his work when able, building relationships with team members and rural farming families.

  • Nurture their four children as they engage in cross-cultural life and ministry.

Shared Responsibilities:

  • Participate together in church-planting efforts.

  • Model Christ-like community living, hospitality, and relational evangelism in everyday settings.

  • Partner with local believers to encourage, disciple, and multiply new Christian communities.
