Activities and Traditions

Activities that Build Confidence and Joy

Each day at Tapawingo, campers choose from a variety of exciting activities offered throughout the week. Led by trained counselors, each activity is designed to build confidence, develop new skills, and encourage teamwork.

Campers are invited to set goals and work toward earning badges in each area, celebrating their progress and perseverance along the way.

Beloved Weekly Traditions

Alongside daily activities, each week includes special Tapawingo traditions that make camp life unique. These moments create lasting memories and deep connections. Campers look forward to these experiences year after year.

  • As the sun sets over the water, campers gather each Sunday on a special corner of the island to worship and listen to the hope of the Gospel.

  • Campouts or Overnights

Each cabin enjoys a night camping under the stars—either on the island or during an off-site trip in the Adirondack Mountains that includes hiking and outdoor cooking.

  • Bonfire Worship

On Wednesday nights, the whole camp gathers to sing favorite camp songs and timeless hymns. Each camper also meets one-on-one with one of her counselors for encouragement, prayer, and support.

  • Small group having a discussion

At the end of the week, campers can choose to swim around the island, run 10 miles around the lake, or simply relax and enjoy time with friends.

  • Banquet Celebration

To celebrate the week, campers enjoy a special banquet dinner served by staff, followed by an award ceremony where each girl is uniquely recognized.
