About The Timothy Initiative
TTI is a global movement that makes and multiplies disciples, churches, and leaders and is committed to getting a church in every village, everywhere. The ministry model is based on 2 Timothy 2:2, “…and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.”
TTI gathers as many as 200 area pastors to cast the vision of planting and multiplying churches in partnership with TTI. Those who express interest apply to become “Pauls” and are vetted and selected for two years of discipleship. Qualifying Pauls open TTI training centers in their local church and begin to recruit about 20 people to be their “Timothys” —church planters in training.
Project Goals
Primary Aim: To multiply obedient disciples and local church-planters by following the 2 Timothy 2:2 pattern—training believers who can read, obey, and pass on Jesus’ teachings to others.
Contextualized Approach: Implement simple, culturally fitting gatherings where new believers meet in homes, villages, and community spaces to learn, practice, and share the Gospel.
Discipleship Foundations: Equip participants with basic disciple-making skills—how to share their faith, teach Scripture, and lead small groups—strengthening both personal and communal spiritual growth.
Addressing the Need: Confront the scarcity of trained leaders in unreached regions, where a lack of discipleship leads to shallow faith and stalled growth among new believers.
Overcoming Barriers: Rely on indigenous leaders who understand local culture and challenges, enabling churches to form and flourish even amid poverty, persecution, or limited resources.
Looking Ahead
Multiplication Strategy: Equip local believers and emerging leaders to replicate TTI’s simple disciple-making and church-planting model within their own households, neighborhoods, and relational networks.
Leadership Development: Identify and train indigenous “Pauls” and “Timothys” who can lead future gatherings without outside dependence.
Scripture Saturation: Cultivate a rhythm of regular Bible reading and group discussion that naturally flows into house churches and local fellowships.
Community Impact: Strengthen believers—especially those facing pressure or persecution—through shared learning, mutual encouragement, and a clear identity shaped by Scripture.
Long-Term Hope: These simple gatherings will spark a movement of mature disciples who plant churches and carry the Gospel faithfully within their culture.
