About Unlimited Potential, Inc.
UPI is a discipleship ministry to professional baseball players that shares the Gospel through the teaching of baseball fundamentals. UPI staff members disciple and train professional players, coaches, umpires, and front office personnel and their families throughout the U.S. and overseas. The UPI staff also partners with Baseball Chapel and serves as Major League chaplains in Chicago, Atlanta, and Arizona.
UPI’s Executive Director, Mickey Weston, leads Baseball Sports Emphasis at COTW every summer, weaving spiritual themes as he teaches and ministers to kids.
Looking Ahead
Multiplication Strategy: Equip influential players to share their faith with the next generation, creating growing circles of athletes who know Jesus and speak boldly about Him.
Leadership Development: Continue working with partners like FCA staff, Dominican chaplains, and believing professional baseball players to lead clinics and follow-up with new believers.
Scripture Saturation: Encourage regular Bible study with each other and mentoring for the players who made decisions for Christ, ensuring they grow in their new faith with solid support.
Community Impact: Prepare for upcoming mission trips to Israel, Austria, South Africa, Puerto Rico, Cuba, and Germany, praying for open hearts, safety, and additional players to join the teams.
Long-Term Hope: Pray for UPI’s financial needs and for wisdom in two major projects that could shape the lives of hundreds of thousands of young baseball players worldwide.
Project Goals
Primary Aim: To share the gospel through international baseball clinics and discipleship, reaching players and coaches with the hope of Jesus.
Contextualized Approach: Partner with FCA staff in South Korea and the Dominican Republic to lead clinics where baseball creates natural bridges for connection and ministry.
Discipleship Foundations: Invest in players through ongoing mentoring and helping them use their influence to point younger athletes to Christ.
Addressing the Need: Reach young players who often tie identity and purpose solely to baseball, offering them a clear message of who they are in Christ beyond the sport.
Overcoming Barriers: Engaging in different cultures where baseball carries deep significance, and using the sport itself as the doorway to Gospel conversations.
