Led by guide Joe Tibbles, this retreat is a chance to break away from the noise and into a weekend of outdoor adventure and Christ-centered fellowship in the Adirondacks. Enjoy comfortable lodging at COTW and three days immersed in exciting excursions, all designed to inspire connection with God, nature, and each other. Whether you're coming solo, with a friend, or as a family, this weekend offers space to reset, recharge, and reconnect.

Joe is our current Recreation Director and one of our LIFT Program Outdoor Guides. He leads a variety of outdoor excursions throughout the year, bringing energy, experience, and a love for outdoor challenges to every trip.
Certifications: AMGA Single Pitch Instructor, Wilderness EMT, and Licensed NYS Guide

Friday
HIKE WATCH HILL
Check into your accommodations at 1:00 PM, get acquainted with the group, and then hike Watch Hill for beautiful Adirondack lake views. Enjoy dinner at the Hill Dining Hall, followed by a spiritual reflection around the campfire.

Saturday
ROCK CLIMBING & RAPPELLING
Start with breakfast and a spiritual focus time, then head out for a full day of climbing and rappelling with stunning views at Shanty Cliffs. Return to COTW for dinner at the Hill Dining Hall, followed by fellowship and s’mores around the campfire.

Sunday
WHITEWATER RAFTING
After breakfast and time in God’s Word, depart for an exciting day of whitewater rafting through the Hudson Gorge. Then, depart for home by 4:00 PM feeling refreshed and filled by a weekend away in God’s creation.

This weekend is open to those ages 12 and up.

This weekend is capped at 10 participants to offer a hands-on, intimate, and safe experience.

The cost is $200 per person. This covers lodging at COTW, all meals, guided outdoor activities (rock climbing, whitewater rafting, and hiking), and group gear.

There are not specific physical requirements, but a general level of fitness for uphill hiking and a willingness to participate are necessary. Our guides will support all skill levels to ensure everyone has a rewarding experience.

The weekend’s adventures are designed to be both fun and rewarding for all skill levels. The hike up Watch Hill is a moderate 2-mile round trip with beautiful views along the way. Reaching the climbing area at Shanty Cliffs also involves a sustained uphill hike, so participants should be comfortable with hiking. The rock climbing routes can reach up to 80 feet, but everyone is encouraged to climb at a pace and level that feels right for them. For whitewater rafting, experienced guides will lead the group through exciting Class III and IV rapids, creating an adventure that is both safe and memorable.

No, all activities are guided and beginner-friendly. Whether it’s your first time rock climbing or you’re a seasoned hiker, our guides will make sure you feel comfortable and safe.

A back-up excursion is planned in case of rain during the rock climbing day. All other activities will proceed rain or shine.

Absolutely! We welcome individuals, couples, and families. Many solo travelers find this retreat a wonderful way to fellowship with other believers and meet like-minded adventurers.

Click here to view the full packing list. But generally, plan to bring outdoor clothing, sturdy hiking footwear, a Bible, a journal, and a sense of adventure. Any specialized equipment needed for climbing or rafting will be provided.
