TAP Adventure

Building Confidence in Christ through Adventure and Fellowship

The TAP Adventure Program combines the best of Tapawingo island life with off-island outdoor excursions. Your camper will experience enriching camp traditions, meaningful faith moments, and adventures that build confidence and foster friendships.

What is TAP Adventure?

TAP Adventure is not your average camp week. It’s an immersive outdoor experience based out of Camp Tapawingo, launching girls ages 13-15 into the surrounding Adirondack wilderness. With experienced staff leading the way, campers step into a week filled with:

A Week in TAP Adventure

Every week is slightly different, but here’s what a typical TAP Adventure week might look like:

  • Girls arrive and meet one another, bond with their group, and then hear the Gospel message during sunset, a beloved Tapawingo tradition. They settle in, get to know their leaders, and prepare for the exciting week of outdoor adventure ahead.

  • Group of LIFT students and local Guatemalans

Campers challenge themselves climbing at the Lake Pleasant Quarry, learn climbing basics, and set up their first campsite in the wilderness. They begin learning key backcountry skills and reflect on their spiritual emphasis with their group.

  • Lunch

The group explores Boreas Cave, then returns to their accommodation to clean up, reflect, and enjoy games and worship. The day emphasizes courage, teamwork, and trusting God in unfamiliar places.

  • Hiking Marcy mountain in the winter in New York

A full day of fun on the island includes camp activities like banana boating, fishing, and evening worship around the fire. Girls get the chance to meet one-on-one with their counselors to connect deeper and be encouraged in their relationships with Christ.

  • Campers paddle out on Little Tupper Lake, set up a backcountry campsite, and enjoy dinner, games, and fellowship under the stars. They experience the beauty of God’s creation and the joy of being unplugged and fully present.

  • Campers return to Tapawingo, clean up gear, and enjoy a special banquet night with awards and final reflections. It’s a meaningful time to celebrate growth and reminisce on stories from the week before saying goodbyes in the morning.
