Cambodia Mission Tour
January 19 - February 2, 2027
Application Deadline: September 30, 2026
Witness the Work of Discipleship Across Cultures
In Cambodia, you have the opportunity to visit ministry sites across the country, learning from local missionaries how they equip communities with biblical literacy and discipleship. One of our key ministry partners focuses on promoting biblical literacy and translating Bible reading materials, helping people access God’s Word in their own language. Another ministry site serves women who have been rescued from human trafficking, and where we witness the transformative power of the Gospel as they find healing, hope, and new life.
Through these experiences, we learn from missionaries up close, understand the history of the Cambodian church, and gain insight into how faith is transforming lives despite challenging circumstances. By engaging with local leaders, participating in ministry activities, and reflecting on the stories of the past, we deepen our own faith while witnessing how God is at work in communities throughout Cambodia.

Jim and Debbi Hammond are the trip leaders. They have served CAMP-of-the-WOODS for over 20 years and share a deep passion for the Gospel and biblical literacy. They are excited to lead this trip because the history of Christianity in Cambodia is directly connected to Jim’s grandfather, Arthur Hammond, the first missionary to Cambodia in 1923. Arthur helped bring the Gospel to Cambodia by translating the Bible into Khmer—commonly known among many believers as the “Hammond Bible”—which is still used by more than two-thirds of Christians in Cambodia today.
-
No, you do not need to know Khmer to participate. Many of our ministry partners speak English, and translation will be available when needed. That said, learning basic Khmer phrases is encouraged—it’s a wonderful way to connect with people, show care for the local people, and it’s an added bonus if you do!

We will partner with Christian & Missionary Alliance and Theological Education by Extension Association of Cambodia (TEE), which focuses on discipling church leaders and new believers in Cambodia. TEE is a ministry project supported by COTW.
We will also spend time visiting a Radical ministry site, which works to rescue girls from human trafficking and walk with them through faith and rehabilitation. This project is also supported by COTW.
